Who is Harlem Shout?
Harlem Shout is a non-profit organization whose main goal is the study and preservation of vernacular Jazz, music, and dance, and whose purpose is to explore and celebrate its roots.
Our performing groups strive to develop and showcase all the dynamics of this essential part of African American dance, music, and culture of the early 1900's; while recognizing it's vast contribution to American Pop culture and introducing it to a greater audience.
Harlem Shout offers various programs, including monthly dances, dance classes and workshops, competitions, performances, film presentations, guest speakers, and jazz concerts.
